George spent most of his early career in business to business sales in the financial services and technology industries. His passion for team dynamics and desire to support individuals and businesses in their success led him to get his Master’s degree from Bastyr University in Applied Behavioral Science and Organizational Development at the Leadership Institute of Seattle. Over the last ten years George has worked with teams and leaders in large and small organizations to help them thrive together, achieve the results they want and navigate successfully in uncertain times. George brings a unique combination of proven sales experience, operations credibility and systems thinking to each coaching engagement. This allows him to successfully apply human soft skills to a focused drive for concrete results in dynamic business environments.
George is a certified Narrative Coach and practitioner of the Integrative Enneagram, Learning in Action Technologies Emotional Intelligence Profile, the Leadership Versatility Index and the Leadership Circle Profile for 360 feedback. He is a skilled facilitator, trainer and coach that thrives when he is working in partnership towards his client’s success. He and his wife and their three children live in Seattle.
George spent 15 years in industry helping various companies, large and small, achieve business results. His experience in sales and sales management in software, professional and financial services provided him with the opportunity to lead in challenging times and generate results both individually and collectively. His business mindset, competitive drive and ability to connect with people are strengths he brings to and leverages in any engagement.
George began providing leadership development coaching in 2010 and specialized early on helping leaders and their teams develop their emotional intelligence so they could thrive together. Supporting leaders and teams to achieve high performance together, while under duress, has been a lifetime pursuit for George who is still an avid athlete and coach. Since 2015 George has been working within the community healthcare industry to provide leadership coaching from the executive level to facility managers, while deepening his understanding of healthcare systems and the complexity of today’s changes to healthcare.
Dedicated to expanding leadership development’s focus on increasing self-awareness and presence as a way to stay grounded and effective in the midst of incredible change and duress, George brings a unique blend of skills and a passionate approach to producing high-performance results. Most recently he has returned from living in Spain for two years with his family so that he could face change and cultural diversity head on in order to learn and grow through it all; just like how he helps the clients he works with. While he was there, he also completed his Narrative Coaching Certification.
George lives in Seattle, WA with his wife and three children. He thrives when he can be of service to his client’s success.
SVP HR & OD at Spokane Teachers Credit Union: worked with six senior leaders to help them assimilate into existing leadership team, including both internal promotions and external hires, so they could achieve their individual and collective goals.
Head of Organizational Development at NeighborCare Health: created and facilitated leadership trainings on giving and receiving feedback. The training served leaders at all levels of the organization and their clinics to be more effective in both giving and receiving feedback.
Chief Workforce Officer at Sunrise Community Health: created and facilitated a leadership training on leadership presence. The class served all managers at all levels of their organization and from their ten clinics to help them become more effective while under duress.
Director of Leadership Training at National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC): provided leadership development to their constituency by delivering trainings on leadership presence as a way to drive engagement and reduce physician burn-out and turnover. Participants range from site supervisors and clinicians to senior leaders and board members responsible for CHC oversight. The class was consistently oversubscribed and was extended to provide more time for leaders to explore and develop their unique presence.
Chief Innovation Officer at Vertex Inc: provided executive development for the leader and his team to help them launch a new product and division over a four-year time period. The team successfully moved from entrepreneurial start up within an established organization to a thriving business unit that is profitable and contributing to the company’s continual revenue growth.
CEO / Founder at EMI Consulting: over six years provided executive team development to the CEO and his team, and long-term coaching for the, CEO, COO and other senior leaders. George helped the founder/owner build his leadership team so that he could pursue a lifelong dream to take a sabbatical and sail across the Pacific Ocean.
EVP at JP Morgan Chase (formerly Washington Mutual): built out the sales management methodology to support a major cultural change in how the bank sold its products and services. George was responsible for the design and implementation of the leadership program that sought to bring consistency across the network, which had grown through acquisition. The program was ultimately delivered to 2,200 branch managers and 2,500 assistant branch managers over a one-year time period.
