What called you into this work?
As a PNW native, I’ve spent most of my life on the West Coast. I spent the beginning of my career in franchise support for frozen yogurt and chocolate companies, supporting local shop owners to optimize their stores and adhere to brand standards. I assisted in teaching the franchise training program and onboarding new franchisees to the system, walking them through the corporate standards and building up their confidence to lead their own in-store teams.
I made the switch into the executive assistant arena after having the urge to level up and bring my support skills to other industries. I started my own fractional executive assistant business to help businesses expand their capacity and tackle admin overload. Along with a top-tier team, we make a significant difference in the lives of small business owners by providing organizational systems to clear the clutter and set priorities straight.
What’s something people might not know about you?
I’m known for making family-favorite pies around the holidays, with chocolate pecan being the most requested. In the summer, I love picking fresh berries and turning them into homemade jam to share with friends and family, preferably with a fresh batch of biscuits nearby.
I also love being outside, especially on the water with a kayak or paddleboard. The Pacific Northwest is endlessly beautiful, and I’m always looking for somewhere new to explore.
How do you approach your work?
Working with leaders in a one-on-one capacity fosters deeper relationships. As humans, we’re social beings, and we always need people to support us in our endeavors. Having the opportunity to shine the mirror on yourself and see the parts that need improvement or change can be difficult and something we need support with. Personal development is some of the hardest and most important work we do, and being able to walk alongside someone who’s on that path is a privilege.
What experience do you bring to the table?
I bring experience in operations, business support, training, and relationship-centered coordination, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a management focus from Fort Lewis College.
My background includes franchise training and support, business operations, executive support, and entrepreneurship. Building and growing my own business taught me a tremendous amount about leadership, systems, innovation, and what it takes to support people well.
What are you learning right now?
I’m always learning from podcasts, books, and thought leaders who help me think more expansively about leadership, business, mental health, and financial literacy.
Right now, I’m enjoying podcasts like Networth and Chill, The Squeeze, and The School of Greatness. One book that really impacted me was The Future You by Brian David Johnson, which helped me think about the different versions of myself I’ve been and who I want to continue becoming.
I also love learning from leaders like Tori Dunlap, Monique Helstrom, and others who advocate for building confidence, capability, and sustainable success.
What are you proud of professionally?
I’m proud of the business I built providing fractional executive assistant service. Growing this business, bringing on team members to support the programs offered, and continuing to level-up our services has been one of the hardest and most rewarding projects I’ve led so far. I’ve learned about myself as a leader and innovator, and I’ve gotten to know myself on a deeper level than ever before.
