Meet George Brewster

Certified Leadership Coach, Consultant, and Outdoor Enthusiast

What led you to become a leadership coach?

My journey started in business-to-business sales in the financial services and technology industries. Over time, I realized my passion was team dynamics, helping individuals and organizations succeed. That realization led me to earn a Master’s in Applied Behavioral Science and Organizational Development from Bastyr University at the Leadership Institute of Seattle. For 15 years, I’ve worked with leaders and teams to help them thrive, navigate uncertainty, and achieve meaningful results.

What do you bring to your coaching work?

I bring a unique combination of practical business experience, operations credibility, and systems thinking to every engagement. My certifications as a Narrative Coach and practitioner of tools like the Integrative Enneagram, Emotional Intelligence Profile, and Leadership Circle Profile allow me to integrate human soft skills with a results-driven approach. Whether I’m coaching a leader or facilitating a team session, I aim to provide the right balance of challenge and support to help my clients achieve their goals.

What are you currently learning?

I’m fascinated by the Enneagram and its applications in personal and leadership development. I recently read Chichi Agorom’s The Enneagram for Black Liberation and regularly listen to podcasts like Enneagram 2.0 and Typology. I’m also continuing to explore emotional intelligence, drawing inspiration from Daniel Goleman and the Lead from the Heart podcast.

What are you most proud of?

Raising three incredible children with my wife is my greatest source of pride. Watching them launch into the world in meaningful ways warms my heart. I’m also proud of the moments when I’ve practiced what I coach—facing fears, stepping into discomfort, and emerging wiser and more grateful for the experience.

What’s life like outside of coaching?

I love exploring the Pacific Northwest, which feels new and inspiring even after 25 years. You’ll often find me walking my dogs, traveling, or getting on the water—sailing is one of my greatest joys. I’ve also been a ski instructor, delivered sailboats offshore, and stayed involved with lacrosse as a player, coach, and board member for my kids’ high school team.

How do you approach coaching?

I see myself as an assist player—I’m here to help my clients score the goals they want to achieve in life. I pay close attention to the stories they tell themselves, helping them shift their narratives when those stories aren’t serving them. I focus on building a strong partnership with my clients, balancing support and challenge to foster growth and success.

What’s one thing people might not know about you?

My family and I lived in Spain for two years, including during the early months of the pandemic. Riding out the lockdown in a tiny apartment was challenging, but it deepened my appreciation for resilience and adaptability.

What’s been a career highlight for you?

I’ve been fortunate to work with clients from diverse industries, but a few standout moments include:

  • Developing a sales management program for Washington Mutual, impacting thousands of branch and assistant managers.

  • Speaking at two National Association of Community Healthcare Centers conferences on Leadership Presence.

  • Becoming certified in the Integrative Enneagram and Leadership Circle Profile alongside practitioners worldwide.

Seeing my clients stretch themselves and celebrate their successes is always my proudest achievement.

DID YOU KNOW?

George and his family recently returned from living in Almunecar, Spain for two years. One year sabbatical was not enough.
