John is a leadership and organizational change consultant.  He works at the individual level as an executive coach, and he works at the organizational level focusing on strategy development and implementation.  He has worked with Fortune 100 companies, global professional services firms, and government agencies. John teaches Organizational Leadership as adjunct faculty at the Justice Leadership Institute at the United States Department of Justice and at Pepperdine’s Graziadio School of Business.

For the last 20 years, John has helped leaders and organizations navigate their most significant challenges.  He is a powerful and light-hearted partner to executives.  His work frequently involves facilitating high-stakes discussions among a wide range of stakeholders.  Consensus building, negotiation, and team building are central to his practice.  He earned his JD at UCLA School of Law and began his career as a practicing lawyer in Los Angeles.  He earned a Master of Science in Organization Development at Pepperdine University.

  • Designed and facilitated a wildly out-of-the-box (by global law firm standards) leadership development program that took root during the pandemic and will continue indefinitely.
  • Co-designed and facilitated a cohort coaching program with my wife, Dana, for midcareer/midlife professionals.
  • Helped over two dozen organizations through the transition from a founder/benevolent dictator leadership model to their next iteration of leadership.
  • Consulted with over 100 leadership teams mired in some form of gridlock and managed to help the teams move through key decisions and/or build capacity almost every time.
  • Designed and facilitated a team development program used for eight years by the United States Department of Justice.

  • Carve out time to read the Sunday paper with my wife, Dana
  • I have (almost) trained two wonderful dogs
  • Manage to take Baja road trips as often as possible
  • Coach youth sports
